I have
XXL BB
XL TV
M Phone
I have no intention of canceling but will try to use this to my advantage as i was told to replace my V box with a V+ would be £150. see if retentions will offer me this at the normal £50 price if i threaten to cancel 2 of my three services.

I do apologise - this is where it gets a bit confusing and I read it wrong - I'm sorry.
Existing customers on Triple XL/XL Plus and VIP apparently will get the price increase
However the prices aren't changing for new sales of the bundles for either existing customers upgrading or new customers taking the bundles out.

Re: Price increases and retention deals
Ok, so what I have gathered in regards to my initial question is that I should phone up retentions before the price increase?
I have often read advice that you should do this at the end of the month. Advice?

Don't want to P on your corn flakes but you can request a specific box a million times on the phone and it doesn't mean a thing.
As said on these pages, it depends what the engineer brings on the day

Conversely, If I ring up after the price increase, I imagine many other customers will have the same idea. Virgin probably have some kind of "action plan" ready for retentions dept. to deal with this.
I currently pay about £52 for XL TV, 10Mb Broadband and XL phone. I was hoping to either get a discount for the same package or get 20Mb BB included in the package. What do you think?

hi i paid £35 for same services (XL TV 10mb BB Xl phone) the contract came to an end this month. So i phone retentions and after much haggling and putting phone down and trying again which always helps i got TV XL PHONE L and 10BB for 37.95 per month after price increases (1st april) not bad but after receiving my contract today they have put me on 18mths contract anyone else got 18mth contract might try them again see what else i can get

Re: Price increases and retention deals
I phoned retentions the other day to upgrade as 12 months coming to an end.
I was on:
XL TV, Normal phone, 10mb BB (multiroom with extra V+ box so 2 x V+ boxes total) = £44:50
I'm now on:
Triple XL @ £53.90 BEFORE price increases, 12 month contract entered into. I couldn't get better and they said they could not do anything about price increases in April. I'm fairly happy with what I get. Sky equivalent would cost me £75 a month with only 4mb broadband.
What do you guys think?

Re: Price increases and retention deals
I don't think the prices change untill the bill start date is after the 1st April - so for you it will be the next bill
